The Bloor-Yonge Capacity Improvements Project is a significant undertaking by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) to expand and modernize Bloor-Yonge Station—Canada’s busiest subway hub. This initiative is focused on meeting both current and future ridership needs by improving the station’s efficiency, capacity, and accessibility.
The Kenaidan Murphy Joint Venture (KMJV) is committed to transforming the station to enable faster, more reliable, and more comfortable travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area. The project will deliver upgraded facilities, contributing to a safer, cleaner, and higher-capacity subway system for passengers.

Mechanical & Electrical Coordinator
During the Development Phase, the M&E Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate and support the development of construction plans, providing constructability input into the design and provide input into the value engineering and risk management processes related to mechanical and electrical work.
How will you contribute to the team?
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
During the Development Phase:
- Support the team with construction planning, sequence, means and methods, staging and scheduling for Mechanical and Electrical works
- Participate in constructability reviews and provide input into the design development process
- Assist with risk identification, evaluation and mitigation process
- Assist with Value engineering process related to construction means and methods and design improvement
- Assist with developing cost estimates
- Assist with developing scope of work for procurement packages for market pricing
During the Construction Phase:
- Assist with the planning and execution of Mechanical and Electrical works.
- Monitor project execution,ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Liase with various stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise.
- Support the commissioning process, including testing, adjusting, and balancing of M&E systems to ensure they meet operational requirements.
- Support the implementation of quality control procedures to ensure the integrity and performance of M&E systems.
Education and Experience:
- Post secondary education in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5 – 10 years experience in construction of Mechanical & Electrical systems for Heavy Civil projects including Infrastructure and rail
- Experience in working on Mechanical and Electrical works in transit stations
- Experience in construction and commissioning of building systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
