Quality Control Coordinator
The Quality Coordinator provides administration and coordination of the project’s Construction Quality Management Plan to ensure compliance to standards, regulations, specifications, drawings, and best practices.  Coordinate the day-to-day project quality requirements for all phases of the project through closeout.   This position in site based.  
 

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Coordinate and monitor the quality requirements of the project in conjunction with the Project Team and the Quality Manager/Construction Quality Manager to ensure compliance to contract specifications and technical requirements.
  • In conjunction with the Quality Manager/Construction Quality Manager, develop a project specific Construction Quality Management Plan.
  • In conjunction with the Quality Manager/Construction Quality Manager develop the Inspection & Test Plan for each project including individual ITPs for each element.
  • Develop an ITP Look Ahead Schedule on a weekly basis and distribute to project team, appliable subcontractors, 3rd party testing companies and owner (if required).
  • Review quality requirements with subcontractors and monitor compliance throughout the duration of the project.
  • Work with the Quality Manager/Construction Quality Manager to ensure that Quality Audit Plans are in place and schedule and coordinate Internal Quality Audits and External Quality Audits of key processes with the relevant Parties including subcontractors.
  • Work with the Quality Manager/Construction Quality Manager to implement a program for disposition and corrective action for Non-Conformances and work with the Project Team perform root cause analysis and ensure follow-up with corrective and preventive action as necessary.
  • Coordinate meetings and inspections with the consultant’s representative related to quality issues including closure of Non-Conformance Reports.
  • Conduct field quality inspections as required.
  • Participate in critical quality inspections as necessary on projects.
  • Perform quality assessment of Subcontractors and Supplier including review of construction related Quality documentation and subcontractor management plans.
  • Review all third-party test reports and other documentation collected for the project, identify issues, and bring these to the attention of the Quality Manager/Construction Quality Manager and project team.
  • In conjunction with the Project Team, manage the document control for all quality related documents.
  • Participate in corporate quality initiatives.

Education and Experience: 
  • Degree/Diploma in a construction related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • ISO 9001 QMS Auditor
  • A minimum of 5 years construction related experience with 2 years in a QA/QC Role.
  • Experience with rail projects is preferred.
  • General construction knowledge including blueprint reading.
  • Strong computer skills (i.e. spreadsheet, project planning, AutoCAD).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong Organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and site-based position.   When on site, personal protective equipment (i.e. hard hat, safety boots) required at all times.
