We currently have an opening in Mississauga, ON for a:
Senior Accountant
As a member of the Finance & Administration team, the Senior Accountant will be in charge of ensuring the validity of accounting transactions with a specific focus on intercompany transactions and financial reporting.
How will you contribute to the team?
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Prepares complex intercompany charge back invoices for major projects
- Analyze and reconcile intercompany accounts across multiple entities
- Prepare standard journal entries
- Leads annual all-inclusive project charge-out rates evaluations and advises on potential adjustments
- Assists Accounting Manager with compilation of financial statements and accounts analysis
- Performs other monthly analysis as assigned
- Supports Director of Finance in monthly forecasting process
- Assists Accounting Manager in preparation of annual budget
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather financial information
- Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards
- Actively participates in Year-end close by performing reconciliations and prepares year-end working papers and liaise with auditors
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
- Provides back up to others in the department
Education and Experience:
- University or College degree in related area
- CPA Designation or close to completion status
- Minimum 5 years of general accounting experience with minimum 2 years in Sr. Accounting role
- Strong knowledge of ASPE
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and set priorities effectively
- Experience in managing accounting projects such as the design and implementation of internal controls and work flows, developing policies and procedures and implementing of new systems.
- Knowledge of ViewPoint or any other construction ERP Software is a definite asset.
- Advanced Level skills with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office conditions, concentration on figures on computer screen, some overtime requirements.
