Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program within Pearson LIFT (Long-Term Investment in Facilities and Terminals)—Toronto Pearson’s multi-year infrastructure development plan.

Project Overview:
Accelerator addresses urgent passenger growth needs while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future, including:
  • Modernization of Terminals 1 and 3
  • Upgrades to airfield and civil infrastructure

Human Resources Business Partner

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic partner to leadership, helping to build high-performing teams while ensuring strong alignment with HR best practices, project requirements, and legislative compliance.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned sub-program(s), supporting workforce planning, capacity forecasting, and succession planning
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters including performance management, investigations, and conflict resolution
  • Partner with leaders to build high-performing teams through consistent application of HR policies and best practices
  • Coach and support leaders on team effectiveness, employee development, and leadership capability
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to support hiring, onboarding, and workforce ramp-up activities
  • Support change management initiatives across the program
  • Drive employee engagement, retention strategies, and culture-building initiatives (including DEI and community engagement)
  • Participate in governance forums to provide HR insights and support strategic decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation (ESA, Ontario Human Rights Code), internal policies, and program requirements
  • Maintain and support end-to-end HR processes across the employee lifecycle
  • Contribute to HR systems, reporting, and process improvements to support scalability
  • Provide workforce analytics and insights to support leadership decisions

Education and Experience: 
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • CHRP, CHRL, or working toward designation is an asset
  • 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in construction, infrastructure, engineering, or project-based environments
  • Experience in complex, multi-stakeholder or joint venture environments strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of workforce planning and project-based resourcing
  • Solid understanding of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Proven experience managing employee relations, including full-cycle investigations
  • Experience supporting large-scale mobilization or infrastructure projects is highly valued
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (BambooHR preferred), Microsoft Office (advanced Excel), and Smartsheet is an asset
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
