Summary/Objective:
Responsible for classroom instruction and the successful operation of a designated NexStep Learning Center (Campus). To assist students to reach levels of educational proficiency necessary to obtain and maintain employment. To support adjunct instructors in their efforts to conduct an effective NexStep classroom within the designated campus. To coordinate adequate staffing levels and implementation of evidence-based educational practices. Other duties as assigned by the NexStep Director. To fulfill mission statement.
Job Competencies:
Teach math, reading, and other adult education subjects as needed to prepare learners to pass the GED exam and be well prepared for the workplace and for post-secondary education. Willingness to support adjunct instructors by answering questions, providing information, and offering useful resources. Comfortable assisting with adjunct instructor interviews and make hiring recommendations for adjunct staff. Plan for and provide one-on-one, small group, and/or large group instruction based on student goals and assessment data. Maintain accurate records. Display commitment and involvement toward Goodwill’s mission.

Education/Experience:
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a strong background in Language Arts, Social Studies, Science or Math. Must pass a background check, and maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Must be an energetic team player who possesses the desire to positively impact the community and create significant change in the lives of adult education students. A bachelor’s degree plus experience may be substituted for an education degree.

In-depth adult education curriculum and instruction knowledge, effective classroom management and policy enforcement, lesson planning, classroom monitoring, instructor and student advocacy, strategic planning, educational policy creation and implementation, effective communication skills, modern technology skills, conflict resolution skills, instructor recruiting, instructor hiring recommendations, instructor training.
