Summary/Objective:
To provide personal, equipment and real property security for all personnel, students and visitors to the facility. Provide public assistance as needed, perform routine security and public safety patrol duties.
As Security Officer, remain alert to emergency situations and provide first line emergency management and/or referrals if required. Responsible for the detection and reporting of safety or security concerns at the facility. To fulfill mission statement.

Job Competencies:
Maintains security presence throughout the building and grounds. Maintains professional demeanor while interacting with stakeholders. Maintains responsibility as front line defense in any active shooter/assailant situation. Maintains building controls to ensure overall security is achieved. Maintains CARF Compliance. Maintains ISO compliance/certification.
Qualifications/Education:
High School Diploma Required.
Essential Functions:
- Actively patrol building and parking lots to ensure personnel, building and property security. Additionally, to detect the presence of unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activity.
- Provide escort services for visitors, students and staff as necessary.
- Provide other public assistance as a point of contact or reference for guests, students and visitors.
- Work in cooperation with the Manager of Corporate Risk Management, Goodwill leadership team and other appropriate agencies to maintain workplace safety and protect others against workplace violence.
- Observe and report irregularities such as security breaches, facility safety hazards and emergency situations.
- Contact emergency responders such as law enforcement, fire and EMS as necessary.
- Direct traffic and enforce parking regulations at the facility as necessary.
- Assist in building evacuations and lock downs as needed.
- Advise violators of infractions, such as smoking, loitering, parking in unauthorized locations or carrying prohibited items into the building.
- Perform periodic check of safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, alarm systems and security cameras. Report malfunctions as necessary.
