Job Description
GED Adjunct Instructor:
Language arts and math instruction, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and/or 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
ESL Adjunct Instructor:
English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction, Tuesdays through Thursdays, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and/or 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Job Description:
Teaches math and/or language arts (and other relevant coursework) to prepare adult learners to pass the GED exam and to be successful in the workplace and/or post-secondary education. Applies differentiation techniques; small group strategies; independent learning; and a problem-solving approach with the implementation of evidence-based educational practices to support students in reaching their educational, personal and professional goals. Maintains accurate records including class attendance, retention, pre/post testing and student outcomes.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree with an emphasis in education, English, language arts, social studies, science or math. A Bachelor degree plus experience may be substituted for an education degree. Instructor must be knowledgeable about cultural diversity and adult learning principles. Instructor should be organized, computer literate and able to communicate effectively. Must pass a background check and maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license.
*The wage for this position is: $32 per instructional hour.
