Position Summary:
As Senior Accountant, your experience is critical to completing complex accounting tasks along with improving the operations of the finance team. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, highly motivated, and resourceful. This person has an eye for ways to make processes more efficient and doesn’t hesitate to voice them. Duties include performing a variety of accounting and clerical tasks and applying generally accepted accounting principles to the preparation and maintenance of accounting records. This role supports multiple companies across varied industries. This person is a mission-critical component of a finance team that supports the entire enterprise.

Duties include performing a variety of accounting and clerical tasks and applying generally accepted accounting principles to the preparation and maintenance of accounting records. This role supports multiple companies across varied industries. This person is a mission-critical component of a finance team that supports the entire enterprise.
Essential Job Duties:
- Management and monthly reconciliation of Prepaids and Deposits accounts.
- Monthly analysis and reconciliation of bottling materials inventory accounts.
- Coordinate grape and olive activity with production teams and prepare payment streams.
- Identify and propose ways to make processes more efficient or effective.
- Utilize reporting from Human Resources to post payroll in G/L for all entities.
- Monthly cost allocations between departments as well as intercompany.
- Assist with migration of Fixed Asset software to ERP and maintain asset information.
- File all wine and beer excise taxes periodically based on requirements.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly related party loans and provide year end documentation.
- Develop and prepare additional balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Professional Qualifications & Qualities:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or Finance and 4+ years’ experience in a relevant role in the wine industry.
- Working understanding of US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Appetite to work collaboratively with individuals both within and outside the finance team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
- Excellent organization, time management, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with ERP software (Microsoft Dynamics Navision) is a plus.
- Experience with Jet Reporting, Power BI, or another analytical tool is a plus.
- Microsoft Office experience required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
