ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hire, train and onboarding of new employees.
- Track performance metrics and revenue to report on monthly and speak to with authority.
- Oversee Tasting Room staff to ensure they are properly trained on all procedures, including operating POS system, maintaining proper inventory control, signing up club members and collecting customer contact information at the point of sale.
- Carry out duties associated with opening and closing of the Tasting Room and ensure all regular full- time and regular part-time staff are properly trained on the opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure that all Tasting Room staff follows responsible hospitality standards at all times. Ensure that all visitors are greeted immediately when they enter the Tasting Room or approach a tasting station, and provided with experiences that build brand loyalty.
- Communicate effectively news, updates and procedure changes to the Tasting Room Team.
- Lead, develop and train the Tasting Room Sales team to achieve daily sales and budgeted goals and to build increased customer loyalty.
- Nurture an atmosphere of teamwork and enthusiastic employee relations among the Tasting Room staff.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, the ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information and/or situations and the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong leadership qualities with both customers and employees, promoting excellence in team and individual growth.
- Effectively resolves customer or staff conflict directly. Knowing when to refer staff to the HR Director.
- Maintain accurate physical inventory of wine, food and merchandise for retail room. This includes ordering from vendors, transfers from Warehouses and monthly physical inventory count.
- In-depth knowledge of brand, product, winemaking techniques, POS system is required to successfully train and lead the rest of the team.
- Responsible Beverage Certification and Food Handlers Certification.
- Collaborate with Director on bringing in and implementing new vendors that meet brand standards and aid sales goals.
- ADP Payroll processing making sure the team adheres to OSHA standards.
- Maintain systems (NAV, Commerce7, Tock, Hubspot, Sling, ShipCompliant) to ensure seamless operations.
- Collaborate with Wine Club office & team. Be well versed on club benefits and programs, policies, pricing, orders, procedures and deadlines to assist staff and customers alike in all tasks.
- Create promotions to drive sales in store and collaborate with mktg on webstore promotions.
- Collaborate with events department for public and club events.
- Collaborate with kitchen on food programs and ensure proper training of TR staff
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Collaborate with other department heads to continually improve programs.
- Special projects and other responsibilities as requested by Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills?
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with good presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage with constantly changing priorities.
- Excellent people management skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite and experience with POS systems.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and occasional evenings.
- 5 years prior experience at winery with food programs in managerial capacity strongly preferred.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand on feet up to 8 hours, climb stairs, bend, twist, and work in a small area with other employees.
- Must be able to work outdoors at various outdoor tasting locations
- Must be able to lift 50lb.
