SUMMARY
The Skilled Cellar Worker will assist in all winery operations, barrel work, wine movement, bottling preparation, cellar sanitation, cellar organization, filtration, and special projects. This position may also assist the cellar maintenance team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform all cellar operations; including equipment sanitation, wine movements, barrel work, topping, filtration.
  • Complete winery work orders and records accurately and promptly.
  • Collect wine samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Helps to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient winery.
  • May assist in the training and direction of less skilled workers.
  • Work shifts, overtime and weekends during harvest season - generally from August 1st to October 31st.
  • Operate grape processing equipment including weigh scale, hoist, crusher/destemmer, conveyors and presses.
  • May be asked to close winery facility.
  • Assists with bottling as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years winery cellar experience.
  • High school diploma or GED, basic math calculations.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule as needed, including extra hours during harvest
  • Experience operating winery equipment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to drive a forklift or become forklift operator certified preferred
  • Capacity to drive a company vehicle preferred

Physical Demands
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds over moderate distances.
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach, crawl and walk.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to pull or push objects over moderate distances.

Pay Range: $20 - $25/hour (Depends on Experience)
