POSITION SUMMARY
The primary focus of the NYC | NJ Area Sales Manager will be weekly account level engagement across New York Metro area and New Jersey top wine retailers, restaurants, hotels, clubs, country clubs and resorts (experience selling Italian wines is highly desirable). Successful candidates should have a track record of existing account-level relationships in the NYC market, with preference given to candidates with strong working relationships on premise and Cline Cellars NYC distributor partner.  70% of the Area Manager’s time is spent in the field calling on accounts.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & EXISTING SKILLS
  • Write a weekly pre-plan and weekly account call recap and submit weekly to New England Regional Manager and Eastern Division Manager.
  • Achieve sales plan by cultivating and maintaining relationships with on-premise customers, as well as fine wine retailers.
  • Working independently and with wholesalers key account managers and sales representatives “on the street,” driving volumes and brand standard execution with each market’s chains and independents in both on and off-premise.
  • Candidates must be able to produce compelling and creative general sales meeting presentations to help educate our partners on our brands, upcoming marketing initiatives, new items, etc.
  • A documented track record of success and relationships in NYC on-premise independent and on-premise regional chains is essential.
  • Achieve annual depletion, profit & brand standards in the NYC | NJ market
  • Communicate with and assist in course correcting our business trends with senior leaders within our distributors.
  • Manage distributor inventory levels to avoid out of stock issues and to ensure execution of major marketing programs and allocations.
  • Participate in trade and consumer tastings for our key accounts in the markets.
  • Conduct all duties in a professional, effective and efficient manner that meets the standards set forth in Cline Cellars employment agreement.
  • Travel and Expense Reports - must be submitted twice per month on the Cline Cellars Expense Report and within your allotted T&E budget.  Overnight travel is required.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills?
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Supplier Representative preferred or minimum 5 years large wine distributor management experience.
  • Have experience in the On-Premise channel, including key hotel, catering and convention accounts – as well as the ability to present to the highest level of chef and sommelier-managed restaurant wine programs.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Have excellent presentation, public speaking and computer skills.
  • Are proficient in VIP/iDig, Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver license and proof of valid automobile insurance.

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, twist and squat on occasion.
  • Drive for two to three hours at a time.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $110,000/year (Depends on Experience)
