LA PALESTRA - Evaluation Director / Clinical Exercise Physiologist

LA PALESTRA Center for Preventative Medicine combines both standard and alternative medical practices with state-of-the art and time tested fitness modalities and programs. A true hybrid, LA PALESTRA provides programing that integrates comprehensive medical analysis and treatments with individually tailored exercise programs. We also design and personally oversee integrative programing for acute rehabilitation, general health improvement, and athletic performance.  Staff at LA PALESTRA work directly with clients to provide safe, innovative, and efficient programs that consider the clients’ prescribed parameters, needs, and abilities and help them to reach their health goals.

Requirements:
  • Licensed Clinical Exercise Physiologist with MS (PhD preferred) in Exercise Science or a related program
  • 3 years of experience in both clinical and non-clinical exercise testing.
  • A strong understanding of applied physiological and biomechanical modalities and applications
  • Expertise in all aspects of data collection and organization
  • Highly skilled in the use of Excel and Database Operations
  • Personal Training experience

Responsibilities:
 
  • Will be required to work with both adult and pediatric populations, performing assessments including pre-activity screening, strength and endurance measures, movement analysis, aerobic/anaerobic testing, anthropomorphic measurements, and baseline physiological assessments 
  • Must understand the normal and abnormal responses, as well as relative and absolute contraindications, to exercise.  Must also be able to read, understand and recognize any abnormalities in electrocardiographic rhythm strip
  • Must be able to assess the effectiveness of assessments and modify them when needed to achieve the necessary goals
  • Will be required to participate in both individual and group teaching sessions, focusing on different integrative health protocols and present on related topics. Keep abreast of current concepts of exercise testing practice, will also be required to participate in in-service training and mentoring of co-workers and interns
  • Will be expected to work with exercise specialists and marketing department to develop clientele within LA PALESTRA and among the general population
  • Will be responsible for all data collection and record keeping
  • Will be responsible for all organization and scheduling of evaluation processes
