Job Overview:
The General Sales Manager (GSM) will oversee the dealership’s sales operations and be a driving force behind the success and growth of the sales team. This role requires a motivated leader with strong management, sales, and interpersonal skills who can help the team achieve its goals while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
-Sales Strategy & Execution
-Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
-Monitor and analyze sales performance, identify trends, and adjust strategies to maximize sales opportunities.
-Collaborate with the marketing team to drive traffic, increase lead conversion, and build brand loyalty.
-Team Leadership & Development
-Hire, train, and manage a high-performing sales team.
-Set clear goals and expectations, provide ongoing coaching and mentorship, and create an environment focused on performance and personal growth.
-Conduct regular sales meetings to review objectives, share insights, and recognize achievements.
-Customer Experience Management
-Ensure all customers receive exceptional service and an outstanding buying experience.
-Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
-Implement processes to improve customer satisfaction and foster long-term relationships.
-Inventory & Financial Management
-Oversee inventory levels and ordering, ensuring optimal stock for customer demand while managing costs.
-Manage dealership profitability by monitoring expenses, sales volumes, and gross profits.
-Review financial statements, sales reports, and other performance metrics regularly, adjusting tactics as needed to meet budget and profitability goals.
-Compliance & Process Optimization
-Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and industry standards.
-Optimize sales processes and workflows to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and team accountability.
-Work closely with other departments, including service and finance, to ensure seamless operations across the dealership.
