Lotus Behavioral Health is searching for an eager, energetic, and knowledgeable professional for the role of Weekend Behavioral Health Technician Supervisor in an adolescent-focused substance use disorder/addiction treatment facility in Winter Springs, Florida. The vision is to deliver levels of care from residential through outpatient counseling, including family therapy. This role will be supported by a diverse and passionate workforce looking at the full picture of the behavioral health needs of our clients.

Reporting To: Executive Director

POSITION SUMMARY

The behavioral health technician supervisor is responsible for performing a wide variety of staff and patient coordination and care activities as directed by the Executive Director. The primary purpose of this role is to provide oversight of the behavioral health technician team for the purpose of providing safe supervision for our clients. This role will aid in ensuring the safety of staff and clients while building a rapport with them. This includes essential client care by providing assistance to each client, working with groups, handling individual problems, setting of behavior limits, creating documentation of the client’s progress, identifying the possible need for professional services and communications of such findings to professional staff.
 
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for general management of the residential community to ensure continuum and quality of care.
  • Responsible for training new staff and ensuring they have completed their competency training.
  • Responsible for supervising the BHTs on shift and provide/coordinate transportation to residents for community outings and meetings in company vehicle in a safe and legal manner.
  • Oversee the daily residential schedule
  • Oversee the organizations safety protocols(Safety checklists, Room/Facility Searches, Safety Precautions, Allergies, etc.)
  • Aid in assuring meals for residents are served
  • Ensure the accurate completion of rounding
  • Oversee monitoring of resident population, including monitoring of video camera feeds
  • Aid in the orchestration of 24/7/365 staffing of Behavioral health technicians from interview to scheduling
  • Must be able to act in place of Behavioral health technician when staffing issues arise
  • Work alongside nursing and clinical departments
  • Perform other duties assigned from time to time.
  • Lead staff member development, training, and discipline
  • Communicate and escalate patient care incidents and needs to necessary parties
  • Ensure the accurate and timely documentation of client records related to behavioral health technicians including incident reporting
  • Train and coach BHT staff on core competencies

EDUCATION
  • H.S. Degree or GED required.

CERIFICATION/LICENSES
  • Certification Behavioral Health Technician preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for insurance coverage for driving the company’s vehicles.

EXPERIENCE
Prior experience in management in another behavioral health treatment settings with adolescents a plus.

  • Strong ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle highly confidential information with professionalism.

  • Must have excellent supervisory skills, and exceptional soft skills, such as relationship-building, communications, and listening.
  • Must have strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, and teambuilding skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills and be flexible.
  • Follow HIPAA Guidelines.
  • Must possess the ability to learn and/or operate relevant computer operating system environments, and the ability to operate a variety of office equipment (fax machine, copier, scanner, computer, telephone system, postage meter, etc.)
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Show appreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences and adjust communication practices accordingly in order to minimize cross-cultural misunderstandings.
  • Consistent work attendance and compliance with scheduled work hours (excludes approved FMLA absences)

  • Must possess/maintain a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization.
  • Must have reliable transportation to oversee programming and/or attend training and/or meetings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Office environment; however, this position demands floor supervision and travel within the community, as needed.
  • Daily, weekly, monthly, and annual deadlines
  • Specific vision abilities require close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; one must also have adequate vision to read correspondence(s), computer screen(s), form(s), etc.
  • Manual dexterity is sufficient to operate a keyboard, copier, telephone, calculator, and the ability to write and/or type.
  • Ability to be physically mobile (stand, walk, reach, climb, bend) and to sit for prolonged periods throughout work hours.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 25 or more pounds occasionally.
  • Must respond appropriately and effectively in crises by using good judgment and following Lotus Behavioral Health protocols.
  • Supervision will be provided.
