Position:             Communications Assistant (Canada Summer Jobs)
No of Weeks:      35 hours per week

Position Summary:
The Communications Assistant will assist in supporting the marketing and communications activities to help maintain and improve services and activities being offered to seniors.  
  • Post-secondary education in progress.
  • Currently studying a program in Marketing/Communications, Social Work (macro), Public Health, or English.
Skills & Experience:
  • Previous event planning, communications, or marketing experience an asset.
  • Strong writing skills, proficient knowledge of English and English grammar.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of image and video editing software.
To be eligible, applicants must:
  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment. Please note that International students are not eligible to apply.
  • Have a Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be entitled to work in Canada in accordance with provincial legislation and regulations.
