Pay Rate: $55,000-$75,000

Summary: The Workforce Development Consultant will manage the full recruitment process for our clients. This position will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day from business development to the all-around recruitment functions. They will help construction specific organizations and individuals optimize their workforce capabilities, adapt to changing industry demands, and achieve their professional and organizational goals through comprehensive training and development strategies.

Essential Functions:
  • Administers company strategies, policies, and procedures centered around all recruitment and outreach efforts designed to fulfill specific staffing needs and increase the number and quality of potential employment candidates
  • Partners with the Director of Workforce Development and Outreach to plans, organize, and administer all activities of the department
  • Develops and coordinates any internal workforce development efforts (hands-on training efforts, educational events, seminars, internships, etc.)
  • Develop, execute, and oversee a people strategy that prioritizes growth and positive client relationships
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Provides guidance to clients in regard to attracting and retaining the best talent
  • Stays current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices
  • Completes timely reports on employment activity to send to internal and external clients
  • Develops and maintains written job descriptions for each position as needed
  • Participates in compensation and benefit surveys and/or conducts wage survey within labor market to determine competitive wage rate and remain apprised of current trends
  • Represents company at various functions related to workforce development
  • Serves as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations
  • Develops, fosters, and maintains collaborative relationships and create external partnerships with recruiting sources such as Trade Schools, Certificate Programs, Junior Colleges, Veteran Programs, etc.
  • Builds a strong social network with various key stakeholders (trainers, teachers, students, guidance counselors, etc.)
  • Assists with building a strong organizational workforce that achieves corporate safety, quality, schedule, cost, and client satisfaction goals
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality for internal and external processes
  • Accomplishes all other duties and tasks as appropriately assigned or requested

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or comparable experience is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of human resource and/or workforce development or outreach experience, or an equivalent combination of related work experience, training and/or education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is required.
  • Experience in construction, construction project management, or other related field is highly preferred

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals with varying backgrounds
  • Ability to travel and occasionally work extended hours (due to travel requirements and/or specific events being held during non-traditional business hours)
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with team members and clients

  • Current knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws
  • Adaptability to changing tasks, priorities, and work environments
  • Proven problem-solving and independent decision-making skills

  • Proficiency in using a computer, keyboard, and mouse
  • Good eyesight and manual dexterity for precise and accurate work on a computer
  • Capability to lift and carry office supplies or materials as needed (up to a specified weight)
  • Ability to move within the office space to access equipment, attend meetings, and collaborate with team members
  • Comfort with repetitive tasks such as typing, data entry, and using office equipment
