Director of Rooms
The Director of Rooms forms part of the Hotel’s Planning Committee and Leadership team who collectively makes key strategic and operational decisions for the Resort. The Director directs and controls the activities of the Front Desk, Communications, Concierge, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, and Guest Services. This individual will ensure that standards are met, guests and employees are satisfied and problems are promptly resolved. The Director also works closely with the Sales team to maximize the Hotel occupancy levels and rates. The successful candidate will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, is able to prioritize and adapt to the ever changing, fast-paced needs of the operation, has a solid work ethic, good business acumen and a passion for service. Applicants are required to have five to seven years experience with a diversity of hotel operations management positions, preferably with work experience in Hawaii. A college degree specializing in hotel/restaurant management or business administration, or equivalent experience is preferred. This position is based on Hawaii Island (Big Island).
