Quality Technician 2 
 
Mi-Tech Tungsten Metals (MTTM), an Indianapolis-based powder metal manufacturing facility, has a full-time Quality Technician 2 opportunity in our Quality department. This position involves material testing, requires computer competency, and has additional responsibilities related to quality. Details on the position are provided below: • 40 hours/week • 9 hours Monday – Thursday, 4 hours Friday (morning) • Starts at 6AM or 7AM per preference • Overtime as required, typically not over 2 hours

Mi-Tech has over 40 years of extensive experience with tungsten heavy alloy products since its creation in 1978. In the last ten years especially, MiTech’s customer base has grown substantially to over 10,000 companies.  
 
The Quality Technician 2 directly supports the Quality department and reports to the Quality Supervisor. However, the role interacts with all pieces of the Mi-Tech business. 
 
Job Description: • Complete final product inspections with various metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, comparator, etc.) and mark the parts to customer requirements • Input test data into the appropriate database • Complete in-process inspections per customer and engineering requirements • Conduct powder lot testing to characterize MTTM powder mixes • Prepare tensile samples and complete tensile testing • Perform dye penetrant inspection per quality and engineering instructions • Assist with root cause investigations and quality containment activities • Additional duties as assigned by MTTM management 
 
Requirements: • High school diploma or GED equivalent • 1 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment • Ability to read and critique technical documents (no prior knowledge of tungsten or manufacturing required) • Computer software knowledge (Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook) • Superior attention to detail 
Preferred: • Additional experience or a higher technical education degree • Ability to quickly adapt to new tasks • Sound organizational skills • Computer software knowledge (Microsoft Access, ERP Software) • Effective communication skills, including the ability to be concise – no 3+ page resumes • Excellent grammar and spelling
