JOB DESCRIPTION:

 
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in production manufacturing of tungsten alloys applying knowledge of shop procedures, setup and operating techniques, and production methods
  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data, such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations. 
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products, utilizing knowledge of production processes and methods, machine and equipment capabilities, and human resource requirements. 
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications. 
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Maintains inventory of department shop supplies and manages department spending budget. 
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. 
  • Initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures. 
  • Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Production Control/Supervisor for action. 
  • May compile, store, and retrieve production data, using computer.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machine operations
  • Check dimensions and materials to assure finished parts conform to work order.
  • Assure paperwork is accurate and make good use of consumable tools. 
  • Assure that safety precautions are observed at all times including the use of safety glasses, safety shoes, ear protection (if applicable) and machine guards.
  • ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Understands how to machine parts to specifications, using secondary operation machine tools. 
  • Understands how to monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.

Requirements as listed below:

2-3 yrs supervision experience in mfg 
Computer literate – MS Excel and MS Word preferred.
Experience with powdered metal compaction and sintering preferred.
