Malliouhana, on the Caribbean island of Anguilla, has been part of Auberge Resorts Collection since November 2014. The legendary winter destination for the jet-set crowd is known for its iconic location high over Meads Bay and Turtle Cove and sweeping 360-degree views of the Caribbean. 63 rooms and suites blend the warmth and gracious hospitality of the Caribbean with stylish spaces that create a sense of togetherness. An all new toes-in-the-sand restaurant, Leon’s at Meads Bay, joins Celeste and Bar Soleil overlooking white-sand beaches, along with the iconic two-tiered infinity swimming pool and new Spa at Malliouhana. Role Summary

The Rooms Division Manager is a member of the hotel’s Leadership team who leads the activities of the Front Desk, Communications, Concierge, Housekeeping, and Guest Services. This role serves as the overall Rooms Division leader for the property responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the quality of our guest rooms and front of house areas. This role develops and implements departmental strategies and ensures implementation of all brand service initiatives. The position ensures our Rooms operations meet the brand's standards, targets customer needs, ensures team member engagement, focuses on growing revenues, and maximizes the financial performance of the department.  This role also works closely with the Sales team to maximize the Hotel occupancy levels and rates.

Core Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this position are:
  • Be curious about the latest in property styling and design
  • Be aware of competitor offerings in the local market
  • Be an ambassador of Malliouhana, reach out in the community to foster relationships, market the rooms aspects of the hotel, and be present in the front of house for continual feedback and areas for improvement
  • Attend guest and official functions as a representative of the executive team.
  • Be aware of the best external competitor offerings in the local market, and continually work to improve our own offerings with the goal of being the best in the market
  • Participate in preparation of the hotel's strategic and marketing plans.  Prepare the Rooms Division budget
  • Monitors Rooms Division expenses and labor for overall cost control
  • Reviews reports and financial statements to determine Rooms operations performance against budget.
  • Monitors Rooms operations sales performance against budget.
  • Remain personally responsible for maximizing quality levels of product and service, and guest satisfaction
  • Analyzes service issues and identifies trends.
  • Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints, identifying areas where re-training is needed.
  • Develop and supervise all Rooms division team members, delivering motivational and inspirational daily rallies
  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with talent & culture on selection, orientation, performance management, coaching, and total rewards to ensure a positive work environment and team member retention
  • Ensures employees are treated fairly and equitably.
  • Identify training needs and develop and deliver the required training for departmental employees
  • Sets SMART goals and expectations for direct reports and holds staff accountable for successful performance.
  • Ensures that regular, ongoing communication is strong in the Rooms division (daily rallies, department meetings, 1:1’s)
  • Solicits employee feedback, utilizes an "open door policy" and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years’ experience in luxury hospitality
  • Progressive career growth in Rooms Division with 1-2 years supervisory experience
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal English communication skills; computer literate
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management, Food & Beverage, or related field
