To round out our compliance team and ensure that all goods we produce meet quality standards, retailer requirements, and all applicable regulatory and safety laws we are looking to fill our Product Quality and Regulatory Compliance position.

Position Overview
This role will work on our quality control processes from starting with product development through production and distribution, ensuring compliance with both U.S. and global regulatory standards. Additionally, this role serves as a liaison between internal teams, third-party testing labs, and major retail partners such as Walmart, Target, Amazon, Hobby Lobby, and Meijer.

This is a newly-created role, offering the chance to build processes, shape how the position operates, and grow with the business rather than simply maintaining the status quo.   • Review product inspection reports from overseas factories that come in overnight and provide feedback prior to goods shipping.
  • Review physical production samples and contact the factory to approve or make necessary corrections.
  • Review new product bill of materials/packaging from PD to determine what testing the product will need and/or if any warning labels need to be added depending on product type (like Prop 65).
  • Reviewing factory audit reports and work on CAPAs.
  • Determine if products purchased need additional testing/certification for selling to new accounts and for products being drop shipped from overseas factories to other countries, like Mexico and Australia.
  • Help our PD/Sourcing team understand the compliance requirements to onboard new factories if they have to be certified to ship to major retailers such as Walmart and Target.
  • Collect, organize and provide MSDS documents to customer service team.
  • Maintain and upload compliance documents to internal portal and customer portals.
  • Develop QC checklists by product type to help overseas inspectors know what to look for.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Assurance
Oversee and maintain quality control and assurance processes to ensure products meet safety, performance, and labeling standards. Conducts inspections, audits, and testing to verify compliance with company and retailer requirements. Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to address quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions, and maintain accurate quality documentation and records.

Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all products comply with applicable U.S. federal, state, and international regulations—including but not limited to CPSC, ASTM, CPSIA, FHSA, REACH, RoHS, EN71, and other regional standards. Monitor evolving global regulations and coordinate product safety testing with accredited labs. Support creation and review of product packaging,  labeling, and marketing claims, while maintaining complete regulatory and safety documentation.

Import/Export & Documentation Compliance
Oversee import and export compliance by preparing and verifying all required documentation—such as Safety Data Sheets, Certificates of Origin, and Declarations of Conformity—are accurate and up to date. Collaborate with logistics and supply chain partners to ensure shipments meet international transport and hazardous materials regulations. Maintain awareness of and compliance with U.S. Customs, trade, and global regulatory requirements for exported goods.

Retailer & Customer Compliance
Manage retailer and customer compliance by interpreting and applying specific requirements for major retail partners such as Walmart, Target, and Amazon. Ensure all necessary documentation is accurately maintained and uploaded to retailer compliance portals and certification systems.

Continuous Improvement
Drive continuous improvement by collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance and quality standards throughout the product lifecycle. Monitor industry trends and evolving regulations, proactively communicate key updates and risks to leadership.


What We’re Looking For:
  • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in Regulatory Affairs, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
  • Experience in quality control, regulatory compliance, or product safety.
  • Experience working with retailer compliance portals and documentation systems (e.g., UL, QIMA, and retailer-specific portals).
  • Understanding of U.S. regulatory requirements. Experience with CPSIA, FHSA, and California Proposition 65 is a plus!
  • Strong analytical, documentation and organizational skills with meticulous attention.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional and external collaboration.
  • Proficient in documentation management, testing coordination, and technical data review.
  • Experience using compliance management systems or PLM tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze testing data and identify potential compliance risks.
