In this important role, which is both strategic and tactical, you will be responsible for all HR and payroll related functions at our corporate office and in support of twenty-six skilled nursing locations in Michigan. The VP of Human Resources is a key contributor to operation & field support by providing leadership and guidance to site Executive Directors and HR Managers. Will develop and implement HR best practices across the organization and drive efforts to continuously improve HR processes and procedures. Also serves as lead negotiator for union contract negotiations. To be successful in this role requires the ability to lead, manage, and do. Reporting directly to the CEO and leading a corporate HR support team, this position has global responsibilities for the following areas:

What you will need to join our EPIC team:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field; Master's Degree preferred
  • At least 15 years of human resources experience; 7+ years in a Director level role or above, with responsibility for managing professional level direct reports. PHR/SPHR preferred. Healthcare experience is a plus. 
  • Must possess a strong customer service focus, and have outstanding interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to manage multiple areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and effectively interact with all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex or difficult issues.
  • Ability to analyze and assess situations, problem solve, and make sound recommendations.
  • Computer proficiency required, including hands-on experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
