Camp Navarro is seeking an experienced Grounds and Maintenance Technicians.  Our growing business is evolving from operating events and festivals to also incorporating transient hotel bookings for 2024.

Preferably, candidate has experience working in general maintenance in a Resort or Hotel setting and has the skills to perform building maintenance and grounds keeping duties.  This candidate is personable and represents Camp Navarro well with guests, staff and vendors, has a passion for nature and environmental stewardship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

General:

  • Willing to comply with all company and department standards, policies and procedures.

  • Must be safety-minded and have the safety and best interest of Camp Navarro guests and staff in mind at all times while working
  • Knowledge of CN Emergency procedures to respond effectively during an emergency
  • Must be able to speak and understand the primary language used by the guests who visit Camp Navarro.

Department:

  • Maintain CN and Maintenance Department standards and policies.
  • Maintain the physical functionality and safety of the facility and grounds including, but not limited to, guest rooms, public space and heart-of-the-house areas.
  • Respond to assigned Corrective and Preventative Maintenance requests and complete work orders in a timely and effective manner
  • Review and complete daily work assignments provided by supervisor
  • Use tools safely and correctly while also maintaining clean work areas at all times to include a clean maintenance shop, and any other areas assigned to maintenance oversight.
General Maintenance
  • Perform general maintenance duties including, but not limited to, minor building, electrical,  plumbing and kitchen repairs, painting and woodworking, and trash removal (as needed). Work on major property maintenance as needed that does not require a licensed professional.
Grounds keeping / Landscaping
  • Perform general grounds keeping and landscaping duties including, but not limited to, trail maintenance, irrigation, operating garden and landscaping equipment to mow lawns, manicuring landscape and weeding.
Events
  • Perform support duties to events responding to and handling all needed repairs in indoor and outdoor areas, to include guest accommodations.
  • Setting up/breaking down tables/chairs, lighting and signage, loading and unloading equipment, parking assistance during events, and trash removal. (as needed)

Qualifications:

  • Associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Associate are expected to have a basic knowledge in respect to the duties listed. 
  • Associates must possess a valid CA driver license.  
  • Maintain scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 
  • Preferred: Previous 3-5 years experience working in general maintenance in a Resort or Event setting.

  • Kneeling/Bending: frequently

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine maintenance logs, reports and correspondence.
