The Naval Architect (II) assist in project management and design oversight for existing contracts and will investigate new science and technology tasking in the areas of multi-disciplinary engineering and design science as part of a team.  Naval engineering will be a primary focus, but other fields will also be pursued.  Tasking will include theoretical formulation, software development, and formal verification and validation of results.   The engineer will also be responsible for documenting their work and assisting in report writing and presentations. 

The successful candidate will possess the following traits:
• Self-motivated researcher with initiative,
• Able to work in teams or individually,
• Able to help develop a structured plan to meet research goals,
• Willing to learn, explore, and create new technology.
• Comfortable working on open-ended research tasks.
• Comfortable with software development.
• Experience with software development in C++ desirable, but not a basic requirement.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 3 years professional experience
• Proven achievement in academic record, especially in the areas of dynamics, mathematics, and statistics.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence.
