JOB SUMMARY/DESCRIPTION:   
Navatek Boat Builders is a homegrown company with kama’aina values, local knowledge and expertise.  From professional engineers to experienced tradesmen, NBB focuses on marketing innovative products and services derived from its affiliated companies. In addition, NBB offers comprehensive vessel design, custom marine fabrication services, complete fiberglass and aluminum vessel manufacturing, and is a dealer and distributor of marine products. Navatek Boat Builders works out of offices and construction facilities located at Piers 24 & 25 in Honolulu Harbor. 

We are looking for an individual that possesses a broad range of skills associated with business development, marketing, project management, and sales. The ideal candidate will have a marketing and project management background that involves monitoring the Hawaii market for potential business opportunities and taking a hands-on role in the completion of projects. The candidate will be expected to identify and explore new and emerging commercial, government, and recreational market segments. Candidates should also be comfortable with cross-functional collaboration, working with engineers, production staff, and management. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Identify potential clients in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospective client’s business and equipment needs
  • Develop relationships with prospective clients, while maintaining existing client relationships
  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate terms to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure contracted product specifications are executed on-time and as agreed
  • Plan meetings and trade shows by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts; developing schedules and assignments; coordinating mailing lists
  • Monitors budgets by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Implements marketing and advertising campaigns by assembling and analyzing sales forecasts; preparing marketing and advertising strategies, plans, and objectives; planning and organizing promotional presentations; updating calendars
  • Prepares marketing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales data
  • Produces and organizes promotional materials – specification sheets, logos, inter-company documentation, presentations, etc.
  • Ensure that projects assigned are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Handle administrative requests and queries from senior managers, accounting department, and human resources
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures
  • Coordinate project deliverables
  • Perform accounting tasks, including invoicing and budget tracking

SKILLS/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Must be flexible in work hours, on call as needed
  • Email viewing, composing, and sending ability preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and industry-specific analysis software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize to meet deadlines

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Good attitude; must be a team player
  • Must show proof of work eligibility in the United States
  • Daily schedule will be approximately 0700-1530
  • Attend informal meetings at 0645 daily
 
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field
  • Experience working with budgets and forecasting
  • Boat Handling and Maintenance capabilities preferred
  • Boat building/Aluminum Fabrication experience preferred

This position is located in Honolulu, HI. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing an employee background check and post-offer drug screen.
