JOB SUMMARY
The Applied Engineering Intern will participate in an array of tasks including 3d CAD modeling and 2d drawing creation, FEA, and structural design and/or system calculations.  The Applied Engineering Intern will report to the Senior Engineer or Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering Director, while also possibly spending time in other departments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Use a variety of software packages for CAD including Solidworks, Rhino, and AutoCad.
  • Use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for purpose of processing data and helping generate presentations.
  • With guidance from fulltime staff and mentors, performs routine naval architecture work requiring the practical application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to a sequence of design and/or analyses of a ship hull, foundation, superstructure, arrangements and hull form characteristics tasks in a shipbuilding environment. 
  • Use of hand and machine tools for building prototype designs and test fixtures / equipment.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ Years of College
  • Experience with Various Software Applications including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to present results in a clear and precise manner

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States 
This position is located in Honolulu, HI.  Employment is contingent upon successfully passing an employee background check and post-offer drug screen.
