Job Summary/General Description:   
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Must be willing to work on a range of projects including: basic and applied research, ships, submarines, autonomous vehicles, and electrical grids.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Investigate new science and technology.
  • Research and formulate theories in engineering analysis and design science.
  • Capture research in new methods and engineering software.
  • Conduct formal testing of methods and document results.
  • Collaborate with team developers and users.
  • Assist in report writing and presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Qualification/Requirements:
  • Proven academic record.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with object-oriented programing and software development preferred.
  • Good attitude and team player who can also work independently.
  • Possess the interest and flexibility to be involved with interdisciplinary engineering tasks.
  • Strong initiative and excellent time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residence.
 
Education/Training:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional experience not necessary but must be able to demonstrate the willingness and ability to learn.
     
This position will be located in Columbia, SC. Employment is contigent upon successfully passing an employee background check and post-offer drug screen.
