The purpose of this role is to operate the crushing circuit to size ore for further processing thru HMS
and Grinding/Flotation circuits.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Reporting of all SHEC incidents
 
Operations
 
  • Conduct pre-start checks / Start Crusher circuit / Conduct after start checks
  • Perform routine operational checks
  • Clear blocked transfer chutes / blinded & overloaded screens / blocked feeders / overloaded conveyor belts
  • Undertake general Crusher  housekeeping
  • Implement lock-out tag-out procedure
  • Participate in effective shift handover procedures
  • Work consistently towards maintaining production targets
  • Undertake fault finding and reporting including identifying both process and/or mechanical issues
  • Conduct safe and efficient shutdown
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance Including routine inspection, changing of screen panels and identification of mechanical issues within the process circuit
  • Simple use of hand tools and manual/physical labor application required
  • Ability to work overtime supporting the operation
  • Ability to grasp upstream/downstream circuit to circuit interaction and impact
  • Fill out proper reports and log books
  • Occasionally operate mobile equipment such as loader, dozer and skid steer amongst others
  • Undertake other duties within level of competency as specified by the workplace foreman
  • Ability to grasp upstream/downstream circuit to circuit interaction and impact
 People and Organization
 
  • Maintain crusher tonnage throughput in accordance with annual plan requirements and within limits of available ore delivered
  • Identify and correct problems and upsets in circuit
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, maintain communications with supervisor and ask for help when needed
 
4.  QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
 
  • Education: minimum GED completed
  • Experience in mining/ milling operations or an industrial production environment desirable
 
5.  COMPETENCIES
 
  • Understanding of Mill operations and ability to critical think for process troubleshooting and subsequent process changes/adjustments to control stability Excellent operating skills with a reputation for being a reliable, effective and safe operator
