1st Class Pipe Fitter: To work within a team of Pipe Fitters to achieve maximum production in minimum time, standards and quality in keeping with company policies, while maintaining a positive and motivated team environment.

The qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability desired. The individual must have working knowledge of procedures, strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow directions.
- Skill level considered advanced/expert pipe fitting duties to be able to fabricate and install piping spools utilizing 90s, 45s, Tees, flanges, branch connections in configuration of mitered joints, rolling offsets, establishing elevation, capabilities with tank and pressure vessel piping layout / repair of nozzle connections.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements for fabricating piping grade, size, P&ID/schematics, Isometric drawings, and installation drawings.
- Familiar with measurement take out, fittings, bolt grades, configuration of valves, system components, instrumentation, installation and tightening sequences of mechanical/ bolted connections.
- Competent and familiar with lock out tag out procedures of piping systems for in service or new construction installation
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
- Ability to Measure, cut, thread, bevel and bend pipe to required shape using hand, power, and pneumatic tools
- Test piping systems with safety relief devices for leaks using testing pressure equipment for tightness and hydrostatic proof testing
- Clean / maintain pipe units, fittings and pipe flushing equipment for piping system operational filtration requirements
- Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system using hand and power tools
EDUCATION
- minimum 3 years’ experience in a PIPE FITTER role at comparative employer.
