Job Summary / Accountabilities: Disability Management Case Manager (Specialist)

This role focuses on managing the day to day disability claims (STD/LTD) for our clients and assists in facilitating and promoting an early and safe return-to-work for our clients’ employees. This is facilitated through fact gathering, reviewing objective medical information, case investigation and utilizing proven return to wellness strategies. Disability Management Specialists will communicate with key client contacts, employees and health care providers in order to adjudicate and manage return-to-work planning. In conjunction with the performance of disability claims adjudication and claims management, you will also evaluate historical claims performance and work collaboratively with our team, existing and new clients to provide solution-focused programs and develop best practices for claims and care management.

Minimum Required Skills and Experience:
 
  • MUST HAVE 2 - 3+ years of  Disability Management experience
  • Short-term/ long-term disability adjudication experience
  • Knowledge of Disability Management and related procedures
  • Registered professional designation/certification or working towards is an asset: (RN, RPN, Kin., RRP or other related healthcare background; Certified Disability Management Practitioner / Certified Return to Work Coordinator)
  • Strong medical knowledge
  • Administration experience
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • MUST be proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and have the ability to learn an internal database system.

Spécialistes en gestion de l’invalidité
Le titulaire du poste concentrera ses activités sur la gestion et l’évaluation des dossiers d’invalidité et interagira avec les clients actuels et les nouveaux clients dans le maintien et le développement de pratiques et procédures relatives aux réclamations et aux services de gestion de l’invalidité. Il communiquera avec les employés, les employeurs et les professionnels de la santé afin de statuer sur l’éligibilité et de gérer la planification du retour au travail. Parallèlement à ses fonctions de gestionnaire de cas, il devra également évaluer l’expérience et les tendances concernant les dossiers existants et travailler conjointement avec l’équipe afin d’offrir à la clientèle des programmes orientés vers la recherche de solutions.  

Compétences et expérience requises
 
  • DOIT POSSÉDER AU MOINS  2 à 3 ans d’expérience en gestion de dossiers d’invalidité
  • Expérience en évaluation de dossier d’invalidité de courte durée
  • Familier avec la gestion de l’invalidité et les procédures s’y rattachant
  • Préférablement un professionnel de la santé reconnu (parajuriste, infirmière, infirmière auxiliaire, kinésiologue, professionnel de la réadaptation ou autre professionnel de la santé, médecin spécialisé en gestion de l’invalidité / coordonnateur certifié en retour au travail ou en voie de le devenir)
  • Connaissances médicales approfondies
  • Expérience en administration
  • Fort esprit critique et compétences analytiques
  • Solides compétences en service à la clientèle
  • Sens de l’organisation et gestion des priorités
  • DOIT maîtriser Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook et PowerPoint, et différents logiciels de bases de données
