Coordinates manufacturing operations to fabricate and deliver parts in a safe manner that meet or exceed customer goals and expectations.

Evaluates information such as job routers, product specifications, parts and material inventory lists, and machine and worker production rates to establish efficient allocation and scheduling of parts, materials, machines, and sequences of operations.

Interviews, hires, and trains employees in area of supervision.

Utilizes Vantage software to investigate and solve issues with material and/or staging shortages at work centers.

Expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments.

Plans, assigns, and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.

Coordinates production activities with sales, purchasing, scheduling, engineering, quality and maintenance to obtain maximum production and utilization of personnel, machines, and equipment.

Revises production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.

Oversees and manages the processing of jobs through work centers in the shop. 

Supervises and directs daily responsibilities and activities of Building Managers/Supervisors and Team-Leads.

Supervises and coordinates activities of production employees directly or through Supervisors in the fabrication of parts.

Directs production personnel in the resolution of problems affecting production operations.

Performs discipline and coaching as needed.

Evaluates performance of direct reports in timely 90 Day and annual reviews.  Establishes and tracks measurable goals for staff.

Reviews capacity of work centers to ensure adequate resources.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Effectively reports production status and capabilities to the Operations Manager and the Executive Management Team.

Direct supervision of Building Managers, with overall responsibility for supervision of  all production and other employees in the plant.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. This position requires past proven supervisor experience and strong communication skills.  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three - six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Lean Manufacturing principles.  

Must maintain valid driver's license for visits to customer facilities and/or to transport employees to medical treatment if necessary.  Must be available for occasional overnight travel as required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Internet software; Vantage Manufacturing software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software. problems.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
