Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Repairs and maintains electrical equipment, machinery, and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Troubleshoots machinery and equipment and diagnoses problems.
 
Repairs defective machines and equipment by dismantling and installing new or repaired parts.
 
Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
 
Installs or repairs automated machinery and equipment.
 
Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
 
Assists in performing preventative maintenance and ensures that preventative maintenance schedules are being met.
 
Assists in training production employees on proper maintenance procedures, including but not limited to, lockout-tagout.
 
Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
 
Repairs and maintains physical structure of facilities.
 
Initiates purchase requests for parts and machines.
 
Walks and picks up garbage and debris from plant grounds. Disposes of debris properly.
 
Performs light plumbing repairs: snake out drains, clear traps, repair/replace restroom equipment.
 
Operates weed trimmer for lawn maintenance. Manually trims bushes. Pulls weeds from landscape beds.
 
Manually removes snow and ice using shovels and ice melt compound. Stock ice melt at doorways as needed.
 
Uses broom and mop as needed to clean floors in shop, restroom and breakrooms.
 
Sorts and processes materials for recycling. Operates company baler for appropriate recycled materials. Contacts recycling vendors as needed for pickup of baled recycled material.
 
Assists in setup and/or cleanup for conferences and special events.
 
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), 5 - 7 years of hands-on electronic and mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of apprenticeship or postsecondary training. Electrician training degree and electrical safety degree required.
 
 
Math Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
 
Reasoning Skills: Critical thinking, problem solving, customer service, and troubleshooting skills.
 
 
Physical Demands: Occasionally be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Excellent vision.
