Duties:
Assists in creation of inspection form documents and Autobend sheets.
Creates nested material layouts for laser cutting machines, listing material requirements and machine required to process parts.
Analyzes and interprets customer blueprints and designs. Checks and converts dimension of part attributes and verifies materials to be used.
Unfolds finished designs and creates accurate, detailed flat blank layouts. Maintain files of completed work.
Takes instruction on SmartCAM, Cincinnati, and LVD program software to create CNC programs and laser part files for CNC machines.
Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics and other physical sciences to assist in completion of drawings and machine codes.
Assists in utilizing computer software to create operational NC machine code that will fulfill operator and customer quality requirements.
Confers with Process Engineer and others on staff to resolve process problems. May work with operators to improve material usage, safety and ease of use of CNC equipment.
Checks other employees' work for accuracy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic blueprint proficiency, basic knowledge of geometric tolerancing. Works with CAD Programmers to gain experience with PEP and Cadman PL and working knowledge of CNC programming and coding.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
