To support the on-going growth of our business, we are currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and safety-oriented Labourer(s) to join our team. Reporting to our Sortation Lead, the Labourer is responsible for correctly identifying various metal materials for accurate sorting, customer service and traffic flow throughout the yard, and assisting with loading/unloading materials from vehicles.

This is a permanent full-time position from Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and some Saturday's from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and will require working outside in all weather conditions.

The starting rate for this position is $20.00 per hour with a performance and wage review after 90 days.


Key Responsibilities

  • Control traffic near, in or around work area
  • Clean work area to eliminate possible hazards
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, of equipment or materials
  • Read instructions, work orders or other customer requirements to complete customer orders
  • Load, unload, or identify materials, distributing them to the appropriate locations on work site
  • Manually heavy lift materials to assist in loading/ unloading and stocking of material
  • Spot trucks and heavy equipment
  • Communicate using two-way radio
  • Use any hand tools that may be required for tasks
  • Exercising good customer service while dealing with the public
  • Complete Pre-Job Hazard Assessments and Equipment Pre-Use Inspections
  • Other general labour duties as required

Education and Experience

  • 1 -2 years outside heavy Labour experience
  • Must be able to perform physical repetitive tasks with the ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work outside year-round in all weather conditions
  • Previous experience working in the industrial/metal industry is considered a strong asset
