To support the on-going growth of our business, we are currently seeking Heavy Equipment Operators with superior time management skills to join our busy South Edmonton location. These roles are responsible for the safe operation of a material handler and/or a shear in our ferrous yard for the purpose of moving, loading and cutting materials on-site. The ideal candidates will be safety conscious, have previous experience operating a material handler or other heavy equipment, sound judgment, and a positive can-do attitude.

This is a day shift - Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and some Saturday's from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM and the hourly rate is $27-32.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load railcars with recycled metal materials
  • Operate material handler in a safe and effective manner
  • Operate mobile shear in a safe and effective manner
  • Identify product by grade for appropriate material processing on site
  • Move, reduce, process, and load materials as dictated by production activity
  • Pile, spread, or sort product by grade for appropriate placement on site
  • Understand product/material information
  • Clean and service equipment as scheduled or required
  • Other assigned work as required

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience operating hydraulic cranes/material handlers/shears and/or excavators
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Safety conscious
