• Planning and organizing schedules to call on prospective new accounts
  • Reaching out to customer leads through cold calling
  • Regularly call on existing customers to process orders and generate new sales
  • Identifying customer needs and expediting the resolution of problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction; monitoring sales volumes and recommending products and solutions.
  • Multidimensional skills including but not limited to customer service, damage control, money collections, handling accounts payable for clients, managing a low percentage of credits and returns, etc.
  • Coordinating sales efforts with team members and other departments such as purchasing, warehouse and transportation.
  • Achieving agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Analyzing the territory/market’s potential, tracking sales and status reports
  • Performing cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keeping abreast of best practices and industry trends

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED, BS/BA preferred.
  • Bilingualism, Spanish/English is preferred but not required. 
  • 2 years of food industry related experience.
  • Technologically competent; familiar with office software, remote internet connectivity, and inventory management systems
  • Outside sales experience and ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service comprehension.
  • Experience meeting sales goals

  • Familiar with territory management
  • Able to put together and execute new business prospecting plans

  • Self-confident/motivated
  • Organized strategy for maintaining product knowledge

  • Extensive local travel – valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required; access to dependable means of transportation.
  • While we are currently taking every precaution against the spread of COVID-19, this position will require face time with customers. 
  • Sales schedule runs Sunday through Friday but schedule is flexible.
