Role Summary
The IT Manager reports directly to the Finance Director and is responsible for ensuring the IT Systems are maintained and this position requires an understanding of network technology, including switching, routing, VLANs, copper & fiber cabling infrastructure, wireless networking, firewalls. see details below:

  • Being the first point of contact for all IT Help Desk related issues via phone, email, or in person
  • Document and track problems in our help desk system to ensure timely resolution. Be able to prioritize and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate IT personnel and/or vendor technical support.
  • Documenting inventory of existing systems as well as troubleshooting and configuration steps.
  • Respond to and perform requests for support on the following:
  • Windows XP
  • PC OS builds and software installations
  • Desktop and laptop issues
  • Microsoft Office 2003 & 2007
  • Printers
  • Telephony
  • LAN and wireless connectivity
  • Point-of-sale equipment
  • Blackberry devices and other cellular phones.
  • Audio / video equipment, including projectors, multi-zone audio, and televisions / digital cable.
  • CAT5 testing and termination
  • Perform other hardware setup, configuration, troubleshooting and repair, as well as computer security and data backup.
  • Being able to train and orient users on systems and policies.
  • Assisting in ensuring users are compliant with policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Present annual fiscal budget.
  • Supervising a small helpdesk staff as well as outside vendors/contractors.
  • Producing SOPs for end-user access, device deployment, and IT support.
  • Recommend new projects including assessment of risks, ROI, and TCO.
  • Orienting & providing ongoing training to end users on installed systems.
  • Managing the data and telecom needs for future Primland capital projects. This includes (but it not limited to): consulting with the architectural team, specification I.T. systems, and regular inspections during construction.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills.
  • Management of the I.T. department’s helpdesk ticketing system.
  • As many of the installed systems require 24x7 support, this position would be responsible for around-the-clock uptime of those systems.
