Role Summary

Join our team as a Facility Maintenance Technician! This is a second shift position. This role has knowledge of various mechanical, electrical, air conditioning and refrigeration, plumbing systems, pneumatic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building. Displays strong repair skills in all surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement and the complete and thorough clean-up of the painting or repair area. Responds and attends to guest repair requests. Communicates with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues. Ability to read and interpret instructions. Knowledge of safety regulations. A willingness to receive technical training or on-the-job training and perform duties under supervision. Performs a variety of skilled and unskilled jobs about buildings and grounds. Shows initiative and judgment involved in providing assistance wherever required.  Is able to cooperate and work well with others. Must be able to work and complete assignments without supervision.  

 

Core Responsibilities

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their teammates. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

  • Care, maintenance, and repair of Primland property, equipment and grounds as directed by Supervisor.  

  • Care and use of supplies and maintenance of equipment used in performance of duties. Carries equipment (e.g., tools, radio).

  • Regular inspection of property and equipment for compliance with safety regulations as directed by Supervisor.  Keeping adequate records as directed by the Supervisor

  • Identifies, locates, and operates all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings.

  • Maintains maintenance inventory and requisitions parts and supplies as needed.

  • Uses the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.

  • Displays basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.

  • Tests, troubleshoots and performs basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.

  • Performs all duties as directed that concerns electricity, plumbing, painting (including furniture repair); mechanics (including equipment and mechanical system); heating, cooling and water system. 

  • Perform duties such as: repairing doors, door locks, windows, windows screens, drywall, floors, roof repair or replacement, changing light bulbs.

  • Run errands and miscellaneous duties as needed to maintain Primland property.

  • Keeps records of work performed as directed. Communicates each day’s activities and problems that occur to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.

  • Inspects all equipment and systems for proper functioning and safety.  

  • Inspects building and grounds regularly for compliance with local codes, ordinances, and safety regulations as directed. 

  • Is on call for emergencies.

  • Occasionally will work in other departments, help with special projects and fill in for other workers if necessary.

 

Required Qualifications

  • High School Graduate and some technical school preferred.

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Willing and able to do manual labor.

  • Ability to climb ladders.

  • Occasionally lifts 100 pounds.

  • Occasionally will lift and move heavy furniture or equipment.

  • Maintain a neat appearance.
