Role Summary
The greens keeper/equipment operator, under the supervision of the superintendent or
assistant superintendents, performs work involving the use of large equipment, including tractors,
backhoes, fairway mowers, rough mowers, and all other maintenance equipment. Most work is
performed on heavy equipment but not limited to smaller tools and equipment.
Core Responsibilities
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their teammates. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
- Mows greens, tees, and green surrounds with walking reel mowers.
- Hand rakes bunkers
- Mows fairways and roughs with riding mowers
- Operates tractors with implements
- Ensures equipment is operating correctly at all times; refills fuel daily; cleans equipment daily;
- and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager or other supervisor immediately.
- Performs any other duties as directed by his/her supervisor
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.Ability to perform most jobs associated with golf maintenance
- Ability to perform most jobs associated with golf maintenance
- Some heavy lifting may be required
- Some walking will be involved with specific jobs
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Due to some of the equipment used, the noise level may be high at times
- Safety equipment will be provided by company
