JOB OBJECTIVE: 
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Events & Activities Director duties can be grouped into three distinct areas: (1) the creation, implementation and execution of Post Ranch Inn’s guest activities, (2) providing information, arranging, and overseeing weddings and proposals at Post Ranch Inn, and (3) providing support for other special events Post Ranch Inn may host, such as Big Sur Food & Wine Festival, New Year’s Eve celebrations, property buyouts, etc.

ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS:

  • Display a commitment to Post Ranch Inn’s ethos and philosophies, including a desire to operate in an environmentally responsible manner and to foster a positive working environment in which employees can thrive and grow
  • Must be a naturally enthusiastic, centered, and organized person to manage the diverse multi-tasking required of this position 
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, services, rates, room accommodations and all hotel and department policies and procedures
  • Deal successfully with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English

EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • College diploma and/or any combination of equivalent education and experience
  • 3 years of experience working within a boutique or luxury resort
  • 2 years of experience coordinating or managing concierges, activities, or weddings
  • Able to lead guests on property tours with varying level and ground changes
  • Ability to use repetitive hand and body motions on a regular basis such as grasping, writing, typing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time on varying ground levels with stairs on a regular basis 
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds or more on a consistent basis and to bend, stoop, stretch, climb and squat frequently to fulfill a range of manual tasks
  • Must posses a valid US driver’s license for driving purposes 

Salary range for the Events & Activities Director is $81,500 - $87,000 per year
