Position Title: QA/QC Nondestructive Test Inspector
Reports To: Quality Systems Manager/ NDT Level 3 Manager

Position Summary:
The QA/QC Nondestructive Test Inspector provides support to the Quality System Manager in supervising all QA Operation areas of non-destructive testing, Welding, and Quality Assurance as well as Process Control Procedure development and review.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop process control procedures
  • Develop and implement Inspection and Test Plans at various stages within a process
  • Develop program quality plans and procedures
  • Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies and data related to production
  • Assist the Quality Systems Manager in enforcing an effective QA program
  • Interfaces with customer representatives in matters pertaining to quality for assigned tasks
  • Coordinates shipboard product testing/inspections when assigned within the department
  • Provides technical assistance to production personnel in interpretation of quality requirements
  • Effectively communicates/brief management with regards to QA related topics in the absence of QS Manager
  • Read blueprints and specifications
  • Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced
  • Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process
  • Performs and documents dimensional and visual inspections at all stages of assembly
  • Other duties as required

Education, Training and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
  • 4 years experience may be substituted for Bachelor's Degree
  • Certifications may substitute for education and/or training
  • Qualified to Level 1 SNT-TC-1A at a minimum
  • Qualified to LEvel ll SNT-TC-1A a plus
  • American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level l/ll Certification a plus
  • American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) a plus
  • Experience working on ships or shipyards
  • Must have experience in quality assurance and control
  • Experience reviewing and working with Process Control Procedures

Skills/Technical Knowledge
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and balance priorities
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Must have familiarization with PCPs
  • Must have knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items
  • Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States
  • This position requires US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base access
  • Must be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Must be able to successfully obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
  • All candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and background check before employment begins. Failure to complete any of these steps will result in disqualification
  • Valid State of Hawaii drivers’ license in good standing, class 3 or higher
  • Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites on time for the start of shift
