Position Summary:
The Scheduler will work directly with the Project Management team to develop, maintain and progress schedules for multiple ship repair projects. The Scheduler will work closely with Executive Management, Estimators, Project Managers, Production Managers and provide project performance on a weekly basis and will actively monitor the schedule and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for developing the baseline schedule, and creating milestone timelines while ensuring the project stays on schedule and on budget
  • Collects and analyzes information used to plan and schedule Ship Repairs
  • Develops and gathers information in order to provide regular updates to the schedule
  • Monitors schedule regularly to identify issues and provide proactive resolutions
  • Oversee the schedule health metrics to ensure schedule in in compliance with Government requirements
  • Coordinates meetings with project/planning team to discuss issues, improvements, and or changes to schedule
  • Utilizes standard planning and scheduling methodologies and tools to carry out daily tasks

Education/Training:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in ship repair project planning or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of working with Federal Contracts
  • Knowledge of NAVSEA standards helpful
  • Able to construct and modify project schedules using MS Project, Primavera, etc.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Project and Excel
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of planning/scheduling principles, practices and techniques; and have the ability to develop schedules from contract documents
  • Must have the ability to lead the overall scheduling effort on projects and be able to develop Milestones, through mid-level to detail schedules
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment

Qualification/Requirements:
  • Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States
  • This position requires US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base access
  • Must be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Must be able to successfully obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
  • All candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and background check before employment begins. Failure to complete any of these steps will result in disqualification
  • Valid State of Hawaii drivers’ license in good standing, class 3 or higher
  • Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites on time for the start of shift
  • Must be flexible in work hours
