Duties/Responsibilities:       The Kentucky Family Peer Support Specialist (KFPSS) will work to connect caregivers and children with behavioral health issues to a support network that increases education and improves natural supports.  The Kentucky Family Peer Support Specialist will provide emotional support as families of children with mental health issues navigate the System of Care.  All other duties outlined in current job description.
 
Skills/Knowledge:     The Family Liaison must be a biological or adoptive parent/guardian of a child who is/was a consumer of mental health services.  Experience collaborating with other interagency teams.  Must complete and pass the KFPSS training and Family Leadership Academy.  Be or become knowledgeable in System of Care, Wraparound, cultural competence, evidence based practices in mental health adolescent substance abuse and person centered recovery planning.
