Educational Requirements:   High School Education
 
Duties/Responsibilities:       The Peer Support Specialist will provide culturally and developmentally appropriate social and emotional support, advocacy and consumer information to the consumer.  Provide support to individuals upon discharge from hospital or other residential facilities, and assist with coordination of continued services via engagement strategies supporting access to outpatient care.  Peer Support Specialist will attend ICC and weekly iHOPE team meetings.  All other duties outlined in current job description.
 
Skills/Knowledge:     History of lived experience with mental health-related difficulties; attend and complete Peer Support Training; have an understanding of the recovery process and how to utilize that process to help others.  Ability to work with diverse populations essential and complete all expected trainings.
