Position Summary:
The Turnaround Scaffold Planner is responsible for planning, building, and situating the temporary work structures that provide other workers with safe, secure access to places where they work while eliminating potential health and safety risks. The focus of this role is specific to turnaround projects, requiring precise planning, scheduling, and execution to meet tight deadlines and ensure safety compliance.

Minimum Requirements:
  • College degree or at least five years of craft knowledge in scaffolding is required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in planning, and executing scaffold work, specifically for industrial turnarounds.
  • Proven experience in estimating, material takeoffs, and scheduling for scaffolding in high-pressure environments.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience drawing multiple types and systems of scaffolding.
  • Familiarity with Scaffolding General Requirements and Scaffolding Code of Practice 2009 (OH&S Regulations) is an asset.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using tools for planning scaffolding structures is an asset (e.g., AutoCAD, scaffolding design software).
  • The ability to problem-solve, organize, and prioritize tasks to deliver results within tight turnaround schedules.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional and concise communication in written and oral forms.
  • Excels at operating in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
  • The ability to travel and be away from home 80% of the time.
Essential Functions:
  • Proficient in using electronic tools to plan, design, and manage scaffold work safely while identifying methods to protect personnel and equipment.
  • Production of all relevant documentation in adherence with company procedures, including scaffold plans, material lists, and schedules.
  • Conduct surveys and attend site meetings to assess project requirements and constraints.
  • Consult with company managers, supervisors, foremen, and clients to understand and deliver on scaffold requirements for turnaround projects.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and technical support to management and supervisors to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate scaffold drawing registers and documentation for all turnaround sites.
  • Effectively manage multiple turnaround projects, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
  • Interpret and understand client requirements, translating them into actionable scaffold plans and schedules.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to coordinate scaffolding work with overall turnaround plans.
