Position Overview:
Brock Canada Field Services is seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible to develop and builds sales relationships within both the company and customer’s organizations, responsible for leveraging opportunities to cross sell the company’s product and service offerings, as well as ensuring proper planning and scheduling of resources for the project and monitoring and taking corrective actions when required. This is a full time position, located in Edmonton, AB but travel to different project sites may be required.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
  • Promote, demonstrate and instill Brock’s Bsafe and Bbest culture
  • Responsible for project safety, quality, cost and schedule
  • Build strong cross-functional operating partnerships across the organization
  • Assist in quoting and performing preliminary job walks for defined projects
  • Maintain communication with regional leadership and Business Development to ensure customers’ needs are met 
  • Manage changes to project scope through defined change management process
  • Assist in resolving customer issues / discrepancies
  • Identifies all operations aspects of the job including labor, equipment, consumables and materials along with any sub-contract requirements
  • Coordinate with Asset Management and Regional Operations on planning/scheduling, and determining materials & manpower demands for defined projects
  • Work with Business Development and Estimating to transition the job from sales to operations
  • Develop and implement project construction execution plan
  • Ensure work processes and procedures are consistently applied on the project
  • Conduct effective performance evaluations and mentors those with less experience
  • Challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required but not limited to:
  • Ability to work within a highly service-oriented team culture
  • Strong understanding of operational impacts on profitability
  • Manages conflict with a minimum of noise by integrating diverse views and finding common ground or acceptable alternatives
  • High degree of technical ability such as: read/interpret engineering plans, product knowledge, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to seek out areas for improvement and solve problems
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills, including strong leadership skills
  • Strong customer focus on relationship building
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task
  • High energy level, strong sense of ethics, discretion and adherence to process
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on environment

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 3 years project management experience or 5-7 years of project management experience
  • PMP and PMI certification, or equivalent considered an asset
  • Supervisory experience with knowledge of employment practices (hiring and termination; discipline, attendance, employment regulations, pay practices, etc.)
