Overview:

The Insulation Estimator is a critical member of our team, leveraging expertise in tendering and estimating to support our industrial specialty services. This role combines technical acumen, industry knowledge, and relationship-building to ensure accurate, commercially sound tender submissions that drive client success. By collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and engaging clients, the Insulation Estimator contributes directly to Brock's reputation for quality, innovation, and operational excellence in the industrial sector.

This project operates on a 14-days-on, 7-days-off schedule, with work taking place at our Kitimat LNG site in British Columbia. Flights and accommodations are provided, ensuring a seamless experience for team members traveling to the site. The role offers a competitive salary range of $60 to $70 per hour, reflecting the specialized skills and expertise required for this position.

Primary Duties:
The ideal candidate should have strong experience tendering Insulation, Paintings, Coatings and Fireproofing scope of work in the Industrial sector. Due to the ongoing opportunities across the Western Canadian Sector, in this role you will work closely with our Estimating Manager, Business Development Managers, and Branch Managers to quote and compile outgoing tender submissions.
  • You must be able to demonstrate success securing large scale contracts with tenders that prove to be accurate and commercially sound in practice.
  • Strong technical understanding of various specialized insulation, paint, coatings and fireproofing solutions in particular, for large scale construction projects, oilsands, mining and industrial maintenance contracts.
  • Strong competencies in applicable software, including Microsoft Office.
  • An ability to identify efficiencies, initiatives and points of difference for our clients.
  • An ability to engage with clients and internal stakeholders to forge productive relationships.
  • Experience managing multiple deadlines
  • An ability to interpret detailed insulation scopes of work, drawings and specifications.
Qualifications
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in excel, word, outlook, and access.
  • Craft knowledge in scaffolding, insulation, painting, fireproofing (preferred)
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
