Position Overview 

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Blasting and Coating Night Shift Lead to oversee night shift operations at our industrial coating head office in Nisku. This role is responsible for supervising the blasting and coating crew, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. Flexibility, leadership, and attention to detail are essential. 
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide leadership and direction to night shift blasting and coating crews. 

  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate records, including daily reports, shift logs, and quality documentation. 

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company standards, client specifications, and safety requirements. 

  • Communicate effectively with day shift leads, supervisors, and site management to ensure continuity of work and expectations. 

  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure all coatings are applied and cured per specifications. 

  • Mentor and support team members to ensure performance, safety, and job satisfaction. 

  • Monitor supply usage and communicate inventory or equipment needs. 

  • Perform other duties as required—flexibility in job function is essential.  

     

Qualifications and Experience 

  • NACE Certification (Level 1–3) preferred. 

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial coating/blasting experience required. 

  • Previous supervisory or lead hand experience strongly preferred. 

  • Strong understanding of industrial coating standards and surface preparation methods.  

     

Skills and Competencies 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus. 

  • Proven organizational and time management abilities. 

  • Comfortable in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. 

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or within a team

  • Proficient in documentation and reporting.  

     

Working Conditions 

  • Night shift work, typically 10–12 hours per shift. 

  • Work may involve exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and confined spaces. 

  • Must be able to wear PPE and adhere to all safety protocols. 

  • May require standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
