We are seeking an experienced investigator and project manager to join our team in New York as a Director.

Our ideal candidate:

Applicants should have a minimum of 5-7 years’ applicable professional experience in corporate and/or legal investigations (or in a closely related field) and be well-versed in both personally conducting and overseeing teams executing public record and open source research in the U.S. and other areas of the world. The strongest candidates will demonstrate creative problem-solving abilities and a track record of success at identifying, analyzing, and clearly interpreting information to answer complex questions posed by attorneys, executives, investors, and/or other decision makers. Fluency in a second language is a plus but not required.

The Director role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and intellectual curiosity, project management experience, and the ability to collaborate with a team while simultaneously managing multiple deadline-driven projects. 

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following, among other tasks: 

  • Gathering facts and evidence for counsel in advance of and during complex litigation or for asset tracing and recovery;

  • Collecting information to prevent or expose frauds;

  • Conducting in-depth research on companies and people around the world to assist clients in due-diligence or compliance with global anti-corruption regulations, such as the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), anti-money laundering rules, or sanctions;

  • Expertly navigating databases with coverage of U.S. and global public records and open sources such as corporate records, recorded documents, financial disclosures, lawsuits and news reports;

  • Conducting interviews and inquiries in the context of due diligence, litigation or internal investigation matters;

  • Managing high-stakes and complex investigative matters, including by directing more junior investigative staff, drafting and editing reports, and briefing senior management and clients;

  • Managing field investigators who obtain documents and conduct interviews and operations around the world;

  • Executing and managing projects within corresponding budgets;

  • Training and mentoring more junior investigators;

  • Briefing clients, drafting research proposals, and assisting in other aspects of client management and development; and

  • Meeting deadlines and supporting a strong team of professional colleagues.

Compensation Range: $100,000-$180,000
