VistAbility is a non-profit organization providing direct services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in 13 locations throughout the Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.
Position: Preschool Assistant for Children with Disabilities
Location: Concord, CA
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 2:00pm, 30 hrs/week, year round
Compensation: $18/hr + great benefits!

Our vacation accrual rates are generous!
1st and 2nd year of employment = 2 weeks vacation a year;
3rd and 4th year of employment = 3 weeks vacation a year;
5th to 9th year of employment = 4 weeks vacation a year;
the 10th year onward = 5 weeks vacation a year.

Early Intervention Assistants work with children 18 months - 3 years old with developmental delays, behavioral and/or emotional challenges, as well as those on the autism spectrum at our early intervention preschools. This position works one on one with students as well as in larger group settings in activities that help build gross motor, fine motor, social, and classroom etiquette skills. The Assistant works in support of the Specialist, who leads the classroom. In addition to hands-on experience working with children in a classroom setting, assistants will attend training on a variety of ECE topics - teaching strategies including Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), lesson planning, behavior management, visual supports in the classroom (visual schedules, PECS), communication strategies, etc.
Minimum Requirements Include:
- 12 Early Childhood Education units (or the willingness to obtain)
